How Meta is organized

Meta runs Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Threads inside one functional company. The app leaders own product and engineering for their app, but not a separate profit and loss, sales team or finance team; those are shared across all the apps.

The two segments Meta reports to investors, Family of Apps and Reality Labs, are a financial view rather than the management structure. On the chart, the apps sit under Chris Cox, while technology and Reality Labs sit under Andrew Bosworth.

AI and compute have been pulled out of the product organization. Meta Superintelligence Labs was created in mid-2025 under a new Chief AI Officer reporting to Zuckerberg, and in January 2026 compute became a top-level initiative with two co-leads. In the same month Meta created its first President and Vice Chairman role.

What your own org chart can borrow from Meta

  • Group product leaders under one chief product officer when the products share infrastructure, ads and sales.
  • Lift a strategic bet (for Meta, AI and compute) out of the product tree and report it to the CEO when it needs priority over day-to-day product work.
  • Show co-leads as two people at the same level, each with their own remit in the title, rather than hiding one of them.
  • Keep legal and global affairs as separate seats when regulation is a major part of the business.

Edit the Meta org chart

The template is a list of people, not a drawing. Each row has a name, a title, a department and the person they report to, and the org chart is laid out from those rows. Change a Reports To cell and that person's whole branch moves with them; add a row marked as an open role to plan a hire; recolour a branch by changing its department.

Many readers open a company chart to borrow its shape rather than its names: keep the Meta structure, replace the people with your own team, and the layout follows.

Sources and accuracy

Meta does not publish an org chart. This chart is an independent reconstruction from Meta's leadership page, its investor releases and named press reporting, as of August 2026. Reporting lines below the CEO come from separate announcements, and lines that could not be sourced were left out rather than guessed.
